The E series of miniature portable Ammeters & Voltmeters consist of JIS C 1102-2 Class 1.0 and Class 1.5 instruments. The taut-band suspension system is used in the moving parts of models 2051 and 2052 to eliminate friction and provide strong resistance to shock impact.

BK Precision 8600 Series Programmable DC Electronic Loads

The 8600 Series programmable DC electronic loads provide the performance of modular system DC electronic loads in a compact benchtop form factor. With fast transient operation speeds and high 16-bit measurement resolution, these standalone DC loads can be used for testing and evaluating a variety of DC sources such as DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries, battery chargers, and photovoltaic arrays.

The DC loads can operate in constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR), or constant power (CW) mode and be configured to provide a dynamically changing load to the DC source with fast load switching times. Versatile internal, external, and remote triggering options allow the dynamic load behavior to be synchronized with other events.

Increase productivity by saving your test parameters into any one of the 100 memory areas for quick system recall. All load parameters such as voltage, current, slew rate, and width can be set via the front panel or programmed remotely. The 8600 Series provides standard USB (USBTMC-compliant), GPIB, or RS-232 serial interfaces for remote communication.

To ensure the reliability of your testing, the 8600 Series provides a power-on system self-test and numerous protection features: overtemperature (OTP), overvoltage (OVP), overcurrent (OCP), overpower (OPP), and local/remote reverse voltage (LRV/RRV) protection.

Special Applications
The 8600 Series provides a built-in battery test mode to measure the ampere-hour (Ah) characteristic of a battery and a unique CR-LED mode to simulate the loading behavior of a typical LED.

Yokogawa Portable Wattmeters 2041 & 2042

Model 2041 single-phase wattmeters and single-phase low-power-factor wattmeters and Model 2042 three-phase wattmeters are electrodynamometer type wattmeters with indicators based on taut-band suspension. Yokogawa Portable Power Factor Meter 2039

Model 2039 is a revolutionary series of portable watt meters in which a power factor is used to operate the DC indicator. This is done using a transducer which provides a DC current proportionate to the voltage-current phase by means of a circuit. Model 2039 can be used in single-phase and balanced three- phase circuits. The electronic transducer, combined with a high sensitivity moving coil type indicator based on YOKOGAWA’s proprietary taut-band suspension system, provides a level of performance not possible with conventional power factor meters.

The Model 1655A AC Power Supplies are sources of high voltage ac. Improper or careless use could result in fatal electrical shock. The most commonly encountered conditions which may pose a shock hazard are identified and corresponding precautions listed in the TEST INSTRUMENT SAFETY section which starts on the side front cover of this manual. Know and observe these precautions.

Although Model 1655A is equipped with dual isolated outlets, only one “hot Chassis” equipment should be connected at a time. Unless the line-to-chassis relationship is identical, a shock hazard will exist between the two chassis.

SAFETY
The Model 1655A AC Power Supplies are sources of high voltage ac. Improper or careless use could result in fatal electrical shock. INPUT POWER
These instruments are intended for use only with 120 volt, 60Hz line voltage. Do not operate from 50Hz, or 220-240 volt power systems. The instrument may be safely operated from 100 volt, 60Hz line voltage, although the maximum output voltage will be lower.

VENTILATION
The holes in the case provide convection cooling (hot air rises and escapes through the top vents, while cool air is drawn in to replace it through the bottom). Never block these ventilation holes with a manual, schematic diagram, other equipment, etc. If the air is blocked, the temperature inside the ac power supply may become excessive and cause failure of the unit. Similarly, avoid operating locations near sources of heat.

MAXIMUM OUTPUT VOLTAGE
Exceeding the maximum input voltage rating of the equipment under test (typically 130VAC) may cause severe damage to the equipment.

The output voltage of the ac power supply is adjustable from 0 to 150VAC. This is very useful in certain testing situations for stressing equipment beyond its normal operating range to determine its breakdown point. However, for most testing and servicing applications, input voltages higher than the maximum specified by the manufacturer should be used with great precaution.

For normal testing and servicing, check the maximum input voltage specification of the equipment under test and make sure you do not adjust the output voltage of the ac power supply higher than that value. Most ac powered equipment has a maximum input voltage rating of 130VAC. If unsure of the maximum rating, do not exceed 130 VOLTS. On Model 1655A, the 130-150 volt portion of the VOLTS scale is red as a reminder that caution should be observed.

Yokogawa Portable Needle-Indicator Frequency Meters 2038

Model 2038 frequency meter uses a transducer to convert a measured frequency to a proportionate DC current, then shows the current as a DC current reading. The transducer, combined with a high sensitivity moving coil type indicator based on YOKOGAWA’s proprietary taut-band suspension system, provides a level of performance not possible with conventional frequency meters. In addition to frequency measurements for research labs and schools, the 2038 can be used as a standard for measurement control labs and field tests.
